Andraž Rangus, who holds a PhD in Law, is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Management and Law in Ljubljana, specialising in law and the labour market. He is also currently serving as the Director of the Insurance Implementation Division at the Slovenian Pension and Disability Insurance Institute (PDII). In 2005, he began his career at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. During his 12-year tenure, he served as the Head of the Pensions and Labour Rights Division for several years and later as the Director General of the Directorate for Labour Relations and Labour Rights. In this role, he chaired several expert working groups, including those responsible for preparing the new Pensions Act-2 and the White Paper on pensions. Additionally, he led negotiations with social partners in 2016 and 2017 to establish the starting points for new pension legislation. Before his current role, he led the Social Welfare and Social Development Division at Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD). During this time, he chaired the European Commission's Working Group on Ageing Issues, which prepared the 2018 Pension Adequacy Report. He has contributed to commentaries on various laws, books, and handbooks on pensions and labour relations, and has published several articles in professional and scientific publications in this field. The author has presented at national and international conferences on labour relations, pension, and invalidity insurance.
